New Leaf Continued
New Layout change, thanks to a template from, Thur very appreciative of that. My new grain enlarger arrived today and it is a beautiful thing as well as my 6x6 negative carrier. New look, new ideas. I am currently in a photo challenge brought on by my friend Jules. Pretty fun gets the juices flowing. Also I have a job interview Monday at 11:30am and it will also be my 35th anniversary. Almost three years together... I so want to marry this girl, she is the most beautiful, smart and sexy woman in the world. God, why did I have to be born in this country instead of hers? Don't think I'm going to get an answer to that but that's okay I suppose.
Hopefully I get this job I am interviewing for. I need the money, I need a bank account, I need to save like a motherfucker. Nevertheless. Hopefully next week will be my week, if not, maybe the next one. I'm to up beat for my own good sometimes.

I like the new layout Thomas. Sorry about your termination but these things happen, particularly in creative fields. I'm of the mind that anyone staunchly for or against any particular technique in any form of art is either limiting themselves or afraid of failing. Fortunately for me, I'm plenty familiar with failure. haha! In all seriousness though, the entire digital-film arguement just tires me out. Without learning film, I can say with certainty that there is NO way I would print the way I do now (which by my own estimate is fairly decent). I'm constantly amazed at recent graduates who never printed in a darkroom and produce prints that they think are spectacular, but in reality are just sad, sad, sad misfirings.
Keep true to your convinctions of quality, even if you do go digital; it's not the medium at stake but your own artistic merits.

Wow thanks for the long comment Adoniram. Glad you like it, it fits my taste much better than the prior one. Its not that I am against digital, its fun, but I suppose when it comes to making artistic decisions I much more trust film than digital, I suppose its that hard copy negative that I can hold in my hand. As for the newly expelled grads onto the world that have never been in a darkroom to make a print, thats almost baffeling, I understand photoshop much much better now than I did prior to stepping into a darkroom. And its one thing to print a print, its an entirely different thing to MAKE one. And as I said a while back before you left DA, when film dies out and I have exhausted my ability in all formats I will then quit, because quality lies in film and that I am utterly convenced of. Glad to see you doing well brother.
